Have a purr-fect day.

A wonderful person gave me the cat stamp on Monday and this week I have slowly found time to have a play.  I have made the cat to look just like my beautiful darling 'Bentley'  who passed away a few years ago.  I still miss him very much even though I still have Muzzy.  I have also used the Lawn Fawn dies for the background.  Putting this in the Critters Galore challenge from Lawnscaping.

Happy Summer tag

My kids and I made little tags to keep them entertained.  Unfortunately they both managed to destroy their tags before I got a photo of them.  We had fun though, and that was the purpose.   I stamped the watermelon from Lawn Fawn and coloured it in using Tim Holtz distress markers.   The background watermelons are embossed with a sparkly embossing powder.   The photo doesn't show it very well.  And I embossed the words on the tag too.  I am entering it into the Lawnscaping challenge - EMBOSSING

Congrats Engagement Card

I made this for a friend's son whose engagement party is this weekend.   I was so excited to get the stamps yesterday so I could try out this idea.  For the ring I used a "screw eye" that you put into the wall to hang things on and cut the end off. A whole packet from the dollar shop only cost $1.50.  I couldn't find any cheap earrings so this worked.  Had so much fun.  The hearts and word is embossed. And used the dies to cut the elephant's out.  I am totally into Lawn Fawn at the moment.  Will put this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - die crazy.  And since I have used Lawn Fawn I hope to put it in the Lawnscaping challenge -Distress Mania.  I used Tim Holtz distress markers (hope that is what they mean).  The link to Lawnscaping is

Get better!

I made this card for my sister-in-law who managed to snap a tendon in her leg while at the gym.  I am putting it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Die Crazy.  I cut all those band-aids out using the Lawn Fawn stamp and die set since Gail has a very big band-aid on. Plaster now she has had it operated on. And I had to put googly eyes on one band-aid.  I aimed to make it as colorful as could be so it's nice and cheery.

So pretty Emmy

This is based on a Pagemaps sketch.   I feel so out of practice since not having much time to scrap.  Pagemaps are a great base to get started on a page.  I followed it fairly closely and throughly enjoyed doing this page.

The other Feather card

I can't work out how to put the cards in the same blog page but separate entries so I am just putting this card in another blog page.  Got to much housework to do to fight with my computer.  Hope it works. (It's for Simon Say's Stamp Monday Challenge)

Lawn Fawn feather cards

I finally bought a set of Lawn Fawn stamps and dies.  Made the feathers then put them aside for a few weeks before getting back to them.  I had so much fun playing with them and splurged on another set from Lawn Fawn.  I did the pink one first and used MME paper and some lace.  I also put glitter on the feathers.   The Blue one has Gossamer Blue paper.  I tried to mix my blue and green embossing powders to match the feathers.   I'm happy with it.  A bit splotchy but ok. I am putting both cards in the Simon Says Monday challenge - wings.

My Girl tag

This is made with thick acetate,  run through the embosser and covered with cut outs.  We are celebrating our 11th anniversary soon and making a family affair out of it so I will put this tag on my daughter's gift ( which she has already found wrapped up)!  I will also enter it into Simon Says Monday challenge since they inspired me to make it.

Thanks a bunch

I am still very new to shacker cards.  A bit of trial and error here but I am satisfied with the result.  I am putting it in the Simon Says Monday challenge - transparent challenge.

Captured In Time

This is mostly My Minds Eye washi tape with a few others as well.  The picture makes me laugh, she is stuck!  Dreamworld have lots of funny photo opportunities and since I have photos of me as a child in this same spot I need photos of my girl too!  I have embossed a clock and stamped clocks because they go with the photo but also for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge.   And I used tags for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge.   The MME tape is for the MME March challenge.

Always fabulous - card

I am having the time of my life  playing with the distress markers.   I saw a card in a magazine that gave me the idea for this card.  I am entering it into both Simon Says Monday challenge - we love stamps and Simon Says Wednesday challenge - have a heart.  There are tiny hearts on the critters ears.  And I think I will put it in the Simon Says Work out.  I might be pushing it with all three but the distress markers are new and FUN!

You make me smile card

On the 28th of January at the Simon Says Stamp blog,  Shari Carroll made a card that intrigued me.  So I bought a few Tim Holtz distress markers and started playing.   After a few attempts and a bit of a learning curve I think I am on my way to mastering her technique.  I was on such a high when making this that my 7 year old daughter was a bit worried and kept asking me if I was okay.   So I squealed a bit in excitement.  So?  Anyway I am going to put it in the Simon Says Work it Wednesday and the Simon Says Monday challenge - We love stamps.  I still have a lot to learn and I am totally hanging to splash out an and purchase a few more distress markers.  But I will keep practicing and keep watching the Simon Says blog.

Sweet girl tag

This is for the Simon Says Monday challenge and Simon Says Wednesday challenge.   The Monday challenge is all about cowboys.  I have spent the week thinking of this and all I can think of is the Little House on the Prarie and Love Comes Softly shows.  So I did this tag with them in mind.  A country girl with her chickens.  Really hope it counts! And Wednesday challenge is to use string.   I had to ink the string to make it a bit dirtier.

Andrew's hat holder

I thought of this for Simon Says Monday challenge (a is for ...).  I made this for Andrew to hang his hats on.  I used wood pieces from a local store,  covered them with paper and used rub on's to put my son's name on the big A. The base is painted with crackle paint and framed with ribbon.  The nuts, bolts and spark plugs are donated by my husband from his work space.  I dabbed white paint on them too.

A is for Andrew

Ohhhhhh, it feels soooooo goooood to finally do a page and to be mostly happy with it.  It's a rather plain page with few embellishments but I think I prefer it that way.  Simon Says Monday challenge is "A is for...." .   Seriously,  A stands for Andrew.  We use the sign A for Andrew's name all the time.  When Andrew was three he could verbally spell his name.  (He lost that ability after a seizure not long afterwards and has not been able to master the verbal spelling again.)  The paper is Kaisercraft,  the colours are the ones he wears all the time.  It goes with the red hair.

Card - You.

This is the second die and stamp set that I bought from Simon Says Stamp.   I will enter this into the Simon Says Wednesday challenge - embossing and the Simon Says Monday challenge - Anything goes.    It feels so good just to get half an hour of craft in.  Can't wait for school to start and having a bit more time for craft.

Card - Always.

I am so excited. I was finally able to order stamps and matching die from Simon Says Stamp.  These two sets that I bought,  I have been coverting for a while.   They came yesterday and I have had a small chance to play with them.   This is the card I made.  So I am entering it in the Simon Says Monday challenge,  Anything goes.  And in just over a weeks time the kids are back to school (yayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!) and once the house is cleaned back to normal,  I will finally get a chance to really play!
